Magnet field

The earth’s magnetic field originates by the movement of molten iron deep below our planet’s surface. It is strongest at the poles and weakest at the equator but still exists everywhere on Earth except perhaps within very dense metals such as gold or platinum. The magnetic field around a bar magnet is strongest at its poles and weakest at its equator. Magnetic fields can be measured using devices called gaussmeters or magnetometers, which measure the intensity of a magnetic field in units called gauss (G).

The Earth’s magnetic field serves a key role in protecting the biosphere from cosmic radiation, which would otherwise prove lethal to most life forms. At its largest scale, it also regulates weather patterns and radiation levels within the atmosphere. The Earth’s magnetic field extends far out into space in what is known as the magnetosphere. The Earth’s magnetic field originates by the motion of molten iron within the Earth’s outer core, which is about 3,000°F.

As for watches in general, most mechanical watches are not affected by anything other than gravity and their own weight when worn on your wrist. As long as they’re not in direct contact with any metallic objects (like your keys), they should be fine even if you wear them all day long (as long as your wrist is exposed). Magnetic fields influence mechanical watches because they contain iron parts or other magnetic materials in their mechanisms.

An automatic watch is a wristwatch that self-winds its mainspring by the natural motions of the wearer. The process of winding an automatic watch is called “self-winding”. An automatic watch is wounded by the movements it makes on your wrist. As the seconds pass, the rotor winds itself up inside the movement, storing power for next time you want to wear it.

The rotor turns when your wrist moves, and a spring inside stores energy from the motion of your wrist. When you wear your watch again, its internal mechanism releases this energy back into the system, keeping it running smoothly until you take it off again.
