THE SAPPHIRE GLASS : PRACTICALLY SCRATCH-PROOF
The sapphire glass is a material traditionally used for watchmaking. It’s an adjusted slab in a watch’s bezel, a chronograph or a clock in order to protect the dial and hand from impacts or dust. The sapphire glass is really appreciated by watchmakers because it’s very resistant and practically scratch-proof. For some luxury watch models, sapphire glass is used to replace the case back so as to make the mechanism visible. RESERVOIR’s watches are equipped with a sapphire glass on the front side to protect the dial and on the case back to reveal the movement. It’s the most resistant glass possible. Natural crystal, the sapphire is the second strongest material on earth. It’s so strong that only a diamond could scratch it. The final result is splendid but most of all practically unbreakable.
