Tiefenmesser

RSV03.TM/130-23

The TIEFENMESSER watch takes its inspiration from submarine equipment, where blued steel and bronze are king: a sign of its uniqueness. The timepiece features a single aperture for the hour display, and is watertight to 50 metres. There are two versions of the TIEFENMESSER: steel case, or bronze case.

AT THE VERY DEPTHS
OF THE SUBMARINE
TIEFENMESSER : 1910-1945

RESERVOIR takes its inspiration from the universes that have marked the history of mankind from the 19th Century to the present time. Submarines as emblems of power confined to unfathomable depths act as a natural link to the TIEFENMESSER.

Immersion is imminent. A submarine quietly folds into the unfathomable depths of the ocean, disappearing without trace from the surface and taking with it a world whose space is enclosed in heat and wetness. The metallic ping of the sonar pulses in the glacial silence, and the smell of the diesel engines saturates the air. The heat is suffocating in the engine compartment, and the noise deafening. Everything on the TIEFENMESSER is about metal, pressure and precision: the piping, the riveted plates and the tubes. In the living quarters, time passes differently for the crew, except for the Captain: monitoring the periscope, he is the only one to have contact with the outside world.

The TIEFENMESSER collection takes its inspiration from the materials that feature so prominently in submarine equipment: the steel of the instruments measuring pressure and depth, and the bronze and brass of a periscope – all of these being the hallmark of what makes these models so unusual. The two TIEFENMESSER models have a white dial, a blued hand, industrial-style black and blue index markings, aged leather straps and a single aperture for the time. The power reserve here is displayed in the form of a mechanical gauge with a red background. Both these two submersible models are watertight to 50 metres.

THE MOVEMENT

In order to fine-tune the precision mechanism so that the three complications on the timepieces can be displayed, RESERVOIR has joined forces with one of the best-known Swiss watchmakers, specialized in designing high complication movements. A 124-part proprietary watchmaking module has, to this end, been specially drawn up and patented. The module is powered by the ETA 2824-2 movement, widely acclaimed for its reliability and precision, oscillating at 28800/h. All RESERVOIR watches feature a retrograde minute hand, a jumping hour and a 37-hour power reserve.

SWISS MADE LABEL

The RESERVOIR collection is a testament to the unique body of watchmaking knowledge that abides by the most stringent professional standards.

Qualified watchmakers design, assemble and check the meticulously calibrated settings of RESERVOIR watches in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The fact that the checks are so thorough, and that such attention is devoted to every minor detail, means that RESERVOIR is truly proud to display the SWISS MADE label: an emblem of high-quality watchmaking achieved through a patented proprietary module comprising 124 components.
