On the occasion of the new season of the European Le Mans Series, which will start this year on Tuesday 12th of April, RESERVOIR will have the pleasure of accompanying the IDEC SPORT team, represented by the 3 French drivers: Paul Loup Chatin, Paul Lafargue and Patrick Pilet, for the 3rd consecutive time. To inaugurate this 2022 season, IDEC is presenting a new car design on which the RESERVOIR logo – IDEC’s official partner – will be visible.
As every year, three categories of endurance cars will compete in the ELMS races : LMP2, LMP3 and LMPGE. A total of 42 cars will race on the track at Le Castellet on Sunday 17th April at 11am, following several tests and qualifying sessions. This first race will announce the start of the ELMS series, which will continue with five other races in Europe: Imola, Monza, Barcelona, Spa-Francorchamps and Portimao.
A DECISIVE RACE FOR THE RESERVOIR X IDEC PARTNERSHIP
During the Castellet race, the 125 drivers will have to take turns for 4 hours to cover 5,861 km, punctuated by a series of 13 bends. Built in 1970, the iconic Paul Ricard circuit represents a rigorous challenge for many drivers, as it is known for its complexity and requires a real team spirit and serious driving skills.
The difficulty and issues of the 6 ELMS races are not the least, they offer a gateway to the FIA World Endurance Championship. In addition, the LMP2 class champions and runners-up, the top three in the LM GTE class and the LMP3 winner will be offered an invitation to the Le Mans 24 Hours, giving a very special dimension to the title hunt in each of the categories.
RESERVOIR is proud to be able to participate once again in the ELMS races alongside IDEC SPORT and its 3 drivers. The spirit of performance and overtaking which reigns during this competition are also values dear and shared by the brand. To honour its partnership with IDEC, RESERVOIR has developed in 2020 and 2021 two limited edition 24-piece watches with the IDEC logo on the dial. Each of these watches was carried in the IDEC SPORT car during the Le Mans 24-hour race the same years.
